Port Neches Saturday Results
May 1st ......The
Formula Ones teams took to the water to begin the weekend and
Terry Rinker laid down the lap to beat with a 32.76 followed by
Tim Seebold with his 32.82. The Seaway Marine entry with Michael
Schubert followed with an impressive 33.57. Shaun Torrente last
years winner had boat problems and had to go to a back up and
struggled in the qualifier and heats. He will be back Sunday with
his repaired hull.
The 1st heat was won by Seebold by
a large margin with Schubert in the Johnson Powered DAC. We
will run the 2nd heat on Sunday with the finish of the 1st heat
reversed with the top finishers lined up at the end of the dock
and fighting their way back to the front.
On another note, Brian Venton of
Ontario Canada experienced a fire in his transporter on the way to
the race site on Thursday. The fire destroyed everthing including
his boat. We wish the best for Brian and his crew and look to see
their return in Bay City.
